Program of Work |
The following activities will guide the staff of the Greater Cedar Valley Chamber of Commerce:
Administration
Lead, encourage, promote, and educate Chamber members as well as the communities at large in the integration of the Chamber of Commerce into the Greater Cedar Valley Alliance.
Membership
- Conduct an annual membership campaign with increase of $10,000 in new membership investment.
- On-going annual membership recruitment with $5,000 in new membership investment.
- Continue the member retention campaign with a goal of contacting 50% of our members.
Networking/Non Dues Events
- Develop, implement and evaluate “New Business Showcase” (business open house).
- Continue to enhance current networking/non dues opportunities and events:
- Annual Business Awards (recognizing Cedar Valley businesses)
- Committee Orientation
- Good Morning Cedar Valley
- Spring and Fall golf outings
- Power Networking
- Strictly Business Expo
- Wing Ding
- Winter Bash
- Present the Cedar Valley Leadership Institute
- New Member Welcome
Education
- New Teachers Breakfast
- Evaluate Knowledge at Noon and implement changes to format.
- Evaluate School to Business Directory.
- Participate with area schools in the “Excellence in Teaching” program.
Continued Staff Education
- Attend semi annual Iowa Chamber of Commerce Executives Conferences.
- Attend annual Mid American Chamber of Commerce Executives Conference.
- Attend annual American Chamber of Commerce Executive Conference.
My Waterloo Days
- Plan and present a re-organized, revamped, profitable My Waterloo Days
Blanchard Event
- Lead and participate with other GCVA entities and community organizations in the design of a five year plan as a continuation of the Ken Blanchard leadership presentation.
Cedar Valley Campus
- Provide assistance and leadership to development of the “Cedar Valley Campus” under design by the Presidents of UNI, Wartburg, and Hawkeye Community College.
Chamber Ambassadors
- Continue to offer leadership and encouragement to Chamber ambassadors as they move toward merging.
